Garland Dog Park is the only designated dog park in Garland, and we know your dog will have a great time there! However, since we’re sure you’d go above and beyond for your furry companion, we’ve selected some other excellent parks in the area. If you find Garland Dog Park too crowded, you can always go to another park on the list.
1. Garland Dog Park
Garland Dog Park is the first and only dog park in Garland. It is an off-leash 3-acre open space with two separate dog areas. The small dog area is for pups weighing less than 35 pounds. There’s a double-gate entry, which makes it easier for dog owners to unleash their pets. The fence is 6 feet high, so you can rest assured that your dog will be safe. If you want a place to cool off during a hot day, you can easily opt for Garland Dog Park, as there are shaded benches and a large pavilion. The park also features multiple drinking fountains. Garland Dog Park is open every day from 6 AM to 9 PM, except for Wednesdays when it opens only at 4 PM, as in the morning it’s closed for maintenance. Sometimes the park is closed after rain. We advise checking the official website or the park’s social media accounts beforehand. Don’t forget to read the Garland Dog Park Rules to avoid inconveniences. Some of them include having no more than three dogs per adult, and the adult must be at least sixteen years old.
2. NorthBark Dog Park
A trip to NorthBark Dog Park takes only 30 minutes by car. If you’re planning a day off with your dog, you can easily opt for this dog park, especially if Garland Dog Park is crowded. The 22.3-acre NorthBark Dog Park features a dog pond and a pavilion where you can take a break on a hot day. This park has two separate areas for small and large dogs. If you want a family party, you can invite everyone to the park, as there are picnic tables and grills. After lunch or dinner, all of you can go for a walk on the trails available in the park. And, of course, equip yourselves with dog toys and treats! There are numerous parking spots, so you don’t have to worry about that either!
3. White Rock Lake Dog Park
White Rock Lake Dog Park is located in Dallas. It only takes about 20 minutes to get there from Garland by car. That’s not a very long trip, considering how happy your pup will be once you arrive there! We’re sure you’ll also enjoy your time there since the park provides visitors with stunning views of White Rock Lake! The park has two separate dog areas, one for small dogs and another for large breeds. You don’t need to bring water, as water fountains and dog washing stations are available. If your pup gets bored of playing with other furry friends, you can check the trails in the area. Biking is also allowed, in case you’re an enthusiast.
4. MUTTS Canine Cantina
MUTTS Canine Cantina is located a bit farther than the other canine attractions listed in this article, but we assure you it’s worth it! It will take you a maximum of 40 minutes to get there by car. The unique aspect of this place is that it features both a dog park and a canine cantina, consisting of a beer garden and a public outdoor patio. Your pup can wander around the park and the cantina off-leash, looking to befriend other dogs. It sounds good, right? To access MUTTS Canine Cantina, you’ll need to purchase a membership. If you’re visiting for the first time, you can buy a $9.95 day pass. If you like the community, you can opt for a monthly or annual membership. You and your pup can participate in all the on-site events. For further details, you can always check their official website.
5. Wagging Tail Dog Park
Wagging Tail Dog Park is an off-leash dog park located in Dallas, only half an hour away from Garland. The 7-acre park has two separate dog areas for small and large breeds, where they can meet and enjoy the company of other furry friends. Together, they will delight in the sprinklers and the drinking fountains! After a good playing session, you can check out the walking trail and the observation deck that provides beautiful views. It’s a perfect destination for a hot day because the park has many trees, so it’s well-shaded.
