Iceland has been an increasingly popular tourist destination over the last decade. Clearly, the surroundings in the country are absolutely stunning. There are a plethora of waterfalls that you can walk near or even explore behind!

3. Bull Elk in Estes Park
Elk are undoubtedly the most popular and frequently seen wildlife in the area, and they are frequently referred to as Estes Park’s unofficial mascots. Elk is known by the Shawnee term wapiti, which translates to “white rump.” Many Native Americans associate elk with romance and music, and a well-known tribe tradition attributes the invention of the first flute to an elk.

4. Cotton Candy Skies
The light travels more through the atmosphere around sunset when the sun is at a lower angle. We notice more pinks and reds in the rainbow spectra as a result of this scattering of the blue that we normally see during the day. Paired with the silhouettes of palm trees and you have one breathtaking photo.

5. Countryside Sunrise
In the nation’s north-central region, between the Pennines and the North Sea, is Yorkshire, a historic county of England. While it has plenty of historic castles and architecture to see, nothing beats the way the sunrise looks through a countryside path in the forest.

6. Deer in the Fog
A deer’s home range can be up to 30 kilometers long. They migrate around according to the availability of food. Excluding the Chinese water deer, all deer species have antlers. The herd in this image appears to be gearing up to star in the upcoming blockbuster adaptation of The Fog.

7. Somewhere Over the Rainbow
Rainbows were thought to be a route forged by the goddess of the rainbow, Iris, connecting humanity to immortals, according to Greek and Roman mythology. Latin arcus pluvius, which translates to “rainy arch,” is where the term “Rainbow” originates.

8. Folklore
There are plenty of beautiful forests in British Columbia. Photographer Jack Hong Lee captured this melancholy photograph that shows just how isolated some people like to live. Surrounded by touring trees and mammoth mountains, this peaceful scene is something out of a folk story.

9. Look Up
The northern lights, or aurora borealis, are a striking illustration of the interaction between the Earth’s magnetic field and charged particles from the sun. When traveling to the high northern (or southern) latitudes, it is also stunning and well worth enduring a chilly night outside.

10. Shocking
The abandoned Point Reyes Boat, which is stranded on a sandbar near Inverness, California, may appear to be nothing more than a sizable piece of trash scattered throughout a wetland that is otherwise protected but don’t tell that to the hordes of photographers that take advantage of its decaying beauty.
