At a particular flooded intersection, a crocodile swims lazily through muddy flood waters. It is just on the surface, its body moving back and forth as it goes through the water slowly. Not only are crocodiles adept hunters, but they can also get very aggressive. It’s no wonder that the people taking the video are nervous to see such a dangerous animal so close.
Crossing with a Crocodile
Cars and large trucks go through the flooded road to cross. They are outfitted with special equipment that allows them to drive through water, although based on the number of people waiting outside the vehicles, the drivers and crew are still nervous about crossing. As they drive, the crocodile waits nearby as well. A large truck hauling a cement mixer makes its way through the water. At this point, the crocodile has submerged a little bit more but can still be seen on the surface of the water. The video zooms in to show the place where the crocodile keeps a watchful eye, the surface of the water just barely breaking over its spiny back. Trucks continue to cross back and forth, passing within feet of the crocodile. Neither the drivers nor the animal takes any action against each other. But tension is high as the vehicles go through the high water and the crocodile watches.
