The Glue Trap
These are the most common snake traps. You’ll need top-quality glue, bait, and a large tray. The first step entails spreading enough glue on your tray and filling it with baits like earthworms. Next, place the trap in areas where snakes may pass. The snake will get caught as it tries to eat the bait. Before moving the snake to another location, ensure it’s completely stuck on the tray. Also, don’t forget to wear protective clothing like snake boots while carrying out this process.
A Snake Bottle Trap
This is the best trap for small snakes. Ensure you have a plastic two-liter bottle, bait, and a pair of scissors. Thoroughly clean the bottle to eliminate any form of smell. Use your scissors to cut a small hole in the bottle and place bait, such as insects, inside. Leave the bottle in areas prone to snakes. A snake will swallow the bait without chewing, meaning its size will enlarge while inside the trap. You can move the trap away from home as it digests its meal.
A Wooden Box Snake Trap
This trap may require the most work compared to the rest. You’ll need a hammer, nails, and pieces of wood. If you can’t cut the wood pieces on your own, ask the seller to do it for you. Nail the woods together to form a wooden box. Also, if you don’t have time for all this, you can buy a ready-made wooden size that suits your needs. Ensure it comes with a flip closure. You can now place the box in the hole where the snake lives. Upon leaving its residence, the snake will get into the box. Afterward, you can release it into the wild with the box.
A Minnow Snake Trap
Also called a door wire funnel cage, a minnow trap is the best choice for giant snakes. Here are the materials you need to make this type of trap: a wire, bait, and a wire cutter. The size of the wire depends on the diameter of the snake you want to catch. Build two similar cylinders using a cable and create a funnel using the same wire. You want to make the hole small enough so the snake will pass through smoothly but not escape. Fill both cylinders with bait and seal them. You can make the trap easy to open for a smooth snake removal process.
